The Nissan Versa is a dependable car to drive for your everyday use around Fort Lauderdale, Weston, Tamarac, Pompano Beach, Margate, and Coral Springs. It drives smoothly, handles extremely well, and will last you for miles.
But, every once in a while, you may see a light come on the dashboard. Each one of the Nissan Versa dashboard symbols represents a system or part of your car that your vehicle is alerting you about. And understanding which each light means and what your car is trying to tell you when any of them are illuminated, can help you prevent any damage to your Versa.
At Performance Nissan, we put together this guide to help you better understand what is happening with your car and the proper steps to take to mitigate the issue.
When these lights, usually red in color, turn up on the dashboard, it means that there is a potential problem. So when you see any of these symbols, be sure to have your car serviced to quickly assess and fix any issues.
Anti-lock Braking System: This light features the letters ‘ABS’ and means the anti-lock braking system is not functioning correctly. This system is important to your overall safety, so it is important to get it checked right away.
Charge Warning Light: Showing a picture of a battery, this indicates that the charging system may not be working properly. Turn off your engine and check the generator belt to see if it is loose or broken. If the belt seems fine, then you’ll want to have a professional technician look at it to determine what is wrong with the system.
Tire Pressure Warning Light: When you see an exclamation point surrounded by two curved lines, your Versa is signifying that your tire pressure is low. You will want to gauge the levels of pressure in your tires and apply more air to the ones that need more.
These Nissan Versa dashboard symbols indicate a system status and are usually blue or green.
Slip Indicator Light: This light will let you know that the VDC system is operating because of the slippery road conditions. The symbol is represented by a car with two squiggly lines underneath it.
Vehicle Dynamic Control OFF: This indicator light will flash on when the VDC is turned off.
Overdrive OFF Indicator: If the overdrive is off, it will be seen on your dashboard as O/D OFF.
High Beam Indicator Light: A symbol with straight beams tells you that the high beams are currently in use.
There are even more Nissan Versa dashboard symbols that may light up that we didn’t cover. And if one you don’t recognize does come on, you can refer to your owner’s manual or bring your Versa into Performance Nissan.
Our certified technicians will diagnose and resolve any issues your car may be experiencing, and get you back on the roads of Fort Lauderdale, Weston, Tamarac, Pompano Beach, Margate, and Coral Springs.
