Guide to the Ft. Lauderdale Winterfest Boat Parade

Known as the “Greatest Show on H₂0,” the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade is the traditional kickoff to the south Florida holiday season. This truly one-of-a-kind parade of beautifully decorated boats is a can’t-miss celebration. There are an estimated one million spectators along the 12-mile parade route, and even more

Important Winterfest Info

This year’s parade is on Saturday, December 15, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. The 47^th annual parade brings with it the theme of “Best of the 80s.” The parade lasts approximately 2 ½ hours to view from one location.

Private boats to giant showboats and corporate mega-yachts will be adorned with lights, music, entertainment, decorations, beauty queens, and many other entries. There are also events surrounding the parade, including the Black Tie Ball, which takes place on Saturday, December 8.

Enter your own private boat in the parade for as little as a $35.00 entry fee. Winterfest has a variety of boats that can promote your business while entertaining guests, too.

If you will be decorating your boat, it’s important to remember a few things. Both sides of the boat must be decorated the same. Make sure to test any lights for visibility at night prior to the parade. Use plastic tie wraps for figures and lights. Costumes, fabrics, and spotlights can enhance any decorations.
